HTML : Everyone knows that something called as HTML is used by Web designers and Web developers to create Websites and Web applications like facebook, Google, etc. Everyone feels that it is some kind of rocket science and not our cup of tea.

I agree that a deep knowledge of HTML / CSS is rocket science, but having a knowledge about the basic HTML tags is as simple as having knowledge about MS Word / Excel / Powerpoint.
