Convergence Services has stood test of time and has evolved into a growing enterprise with every passing year and as Chinese Legend puts it "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step” this has stood true for Convergence services. This is a story about the remarkable journey of people who thrived on challenges and converted them into opportunities with their passion, perseverance, dedication, and hard work.

It all started in the year 2008 when the world was reeling under the cloud of recession. Economies of the major countries were crippling and unemployment was on the rise. That was when the seed for future Convergence Services was planted by Vicky and Priyanka, the toppers of Shah and Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College. Though Priyanka got a well deserved job in TCS during the campus placement process Vicky was still to get through. Vicky was not allowed to sit in the job placement process because of some issue with the college placement committee, headed by Prof.Vinit Kotak. Initially he felt the resentment but later realized it was blessing in disguise for if this would not have been the case then Convergence Services would not have been born. Though after passing out Priyanka’s job at TCS was delayed by 9 long months, Vicky was unemployed and trying some thing new like learning database language Oracle.

Vicky is a 21st century entrepreneur and his association with entrepreneurship date back to his college days when he started a venture called Convergence Cards, along with this friends Roshan, Yohan, Paras and Harsh, though it was not financially successful but it was a stepping stone towards the future enterprise. Even Convergence Cards doesn’t come easy to him. Once the name was coined by Yohan he had to persuade him for two long months to get the Logo done. At Convergence Cards every team member contributed towards function of the venture. Times passed by things were getting monotonous and inspiration was hard to come by. Vicky started to rebel his thoughts. “Was this the vital dream I had nourished back in my college days?” he used to contemplate. In this desperation he started to learn Java, Oracle and Applets to keep his time occupied. Then one day it happened that one of his cousins asked him to develop specific software. Impressed by the work the cousin asked Vicky if he could develop a website for his company. The challenge of writing software has now become an opportunity to develop a website and he grabbed it with both hands. The website was developed by Priyanka and convergence services bagged its first project for website development of a Cable manufacturing factory. People liked their work and through word of mouth they started getting more and more projects.

Though after successfully completing the projects life was not a cake walk for them because when time for payment arrived clients started asking for the legality of their existence like office address, registration of the company, service tax number, bank account, etc. and being a start up it was not easy to do all these things so quickly. But as people say “where there's a will there's a way”, Convergence Services got itself registered as a Proprietorship firm and opened its first bank account on October 7,2009 at Kotak Mahindra Bank.

Things were looking bright and the company was growing by leaps and bounds that’s when Yohan introduced Vicky to Abhay, the future director of the company. Together they accomplished multiple projects for various clients from different business verticals. First convergence leased an office in December 2009 at an attic of a Telson wood Industries (a wooden manufacturing factory) in Ghatkopar. Things started to look good and work continuously poured in. Even friends from earlier venture started to extend help by bringing in more clients to their doors.After getting an office for themselves convergence became a Private Limited Company in August 2010 with three directors at its helm namely, Vicky, Priyanka and Abhay. Convergence services have come a long way from its initial years but the true strength lies in its Employees who are the cornerstone of the company. Disha, the senior member of the organization and a chief designer joined the company in February 2009 followed by other talented members. With more than 200+ clients the company is poised to grow further with brand new story.

The story in a Nutshell: It doesn’t matter who you are, It doesn’t matter what you have, It doesn’t matter who you know, all that does matter is your Dream, Passion, Perseverance and unwavering determination to reach the stars.

That’s how convergence services with only two people and virtually no means of resources succeeded in establishing a company with 2 offices, 10 employees, and strong annual revenue with 200+ clients.
